Whimsical Photo Design was established in 2007 by Susan Berman and Steve Ellison. Our founding belief is that our customers receive the highest quality of service and product; art that can live and they can love forever. We love special moments and capturing the innocence of childhood, the purity of love, and the quirkiness of the family. We take a fun outlook on life and engage our clients in the process before, during and after their session. We strive to make your experience as special, and as whimsical, as possible.

Susan Berman
Photographer

Susan is an energetic people-person with an eye for capturing beautiful and meaningful moments. She is a graduate of the University of Washington, class of 2001, with bachelor degrees in Marketing / Communications and Political Science. She began her love affair with photography in high school and continued to explore the technical and practical sides through college and the early stages of her career.

Susan realized her passion for wedding photography when she experienced it first-hand planning her own wedding. The passion for creating, capturing, and perfecting special, timeless moments only strengthened when her first child was born. It was then she decided to take her talents to create a successful and meaningful business.

Susan takes pride in photographing the small details, connecting personally with her clients, and finding humor and whimsy in every situation. She is experienced with lighting, model posing and posture, and can work under any condition. Her main goal is to make the client feel and look the best they can! When Susan isn’t snapping unforgettable pictures, she enjoys reading, spending time with her husband and daughter, and traveling to new places.

Steve Ellison
Designer

Steve started his passion for design over 13 years ago in his parents’ computer room at the ripe old age of 14. After high school he attended Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey in their Electronic Filmmaking and Digital Design program. Steve has worked and has mastered design techniques in web design, flash, print production, and photo processing. His strengths are in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, Flash, and Indesign. His weaknesses are cuddly cats, long sunsets, and his baby niece.
